The history of JAVEA stretches back over five thousand years, Romans, Greeks and Arabs have all left their influence reflected in the architecture of the old town, the many colourful fiestas, and in the welcoming character of the locals. Todays visitors can enjoy clean safe bathing with an excellent choice of beaches and coves. There is a wide range of restaurants offering fresh produce from the sea and the land. Most take advantage of the near perfect climate and breathtaking views by serving their clients on open air terraces and patios. The vines and orange groves of the coast give way to olives and almonds as the adventurous visitor heads a few miles inland to the many towns and villages set against rugged mountain backdrops. All are full of fascinating interest to young and old with shops selling a wide range of ceramics, carved wood, woven products, glassware, leather, footwear and fashion, the list is endless. Despite the unique attractions of JAVEA it easily accessible both by motorway and by air, through the equidistant airports of Alicante and Valencia. Hire cars can be waiting for you at the airport with your villa just an hours drive away.
